From customer service, sales and logistics professionals to specialists in different product areas and systems, we have a team of experts.

We trust in each other's skills and keep the threads in our own hands. On the surface, you would not necessarily guess that Verkkokauppa.com is not only a large retailer but also a medium-sized software company: our systems are kept running by 60 people in our IT department. Our same-sized purchasing department ensures our product range is diverse, comprehensive and always up to date.

Our sales staff use their expertise to help our customers find the best products for their needs, whether they are looking for a tennis racket for leisure time or work computers for the whole team. Our logistics professionals ensure, that tennis rackets, computers and other products are swiftly transferred from our facilities to their new owners.

Our people have a shared passion for making. This video, starring our passionate employees, is narrated in Finnish.

A Passion for Making

Although we Verkkokauppa.com employees work in very different jobs and come from very different backgrounds, we all have one thing in common: passion. One person lights up from the exhilaration of speed on a bike, another sighs with happiness after finding the perfect chandelier for their home — and these are the experiences we want to give our customers. We are passionate about meeting our customers' needs, working together and appreciating each other's strengths and different backgrounds.

We have a low threshold for rewarding success. The brilliance that comes from the hustle and bustle of everyday life deserves a Nopsa award, and every month we reward someone among us who has succeeded particularly well in their job. All Verkkokauppa.com employees have the opportunity to contribute and bring forward constructive ideas, and regular staff surveys and an open discussion culture are important ways of doing this. Our low-hierarchy culture fosters an enthusiasm to develop new things together: through the staff Ideabox, many great ideas have seen the light of day and made their way to our business, driving it forward. We have the courage to learn from each other, regardless of position or job title.

A Chance to Grow as a Professional and Find One’s Passion

According to our latest employee survey, the most important source of job satisfaction for our employees is their own work community. In addition, Verkkokauppa.com is perceived as a pioneer in its field, which is a source of pride. For many young employees, Verkkokauppa.com is their first job and their first contact with working life. We want to ensure they have a positive experience of working life and provide a good foundation for their future careers. In addition to their own tasks, we familiarize all our new employees with Verkkokauppa.com policies, safety at work and security guidelines.

We value in-house career paths. In fact, many of our employees have been involved in several different departments and positions during their growth path at Verkkokauppa.com. Anton, for example, started his career with us as a salesperson in 2006, from where he moved to the Purchasing department a few years later, then to Marketing and finally making his way to his current role as Business Development Lead. Meanwhile, Minttu spent her first few years with us as a salesperson for home appliances, and gradually began to develop a passion for improving the overall in-store experience. Today, Minttu is our Development Coordinator, implementing a wide range of in-store development and training projects.

Opportunities for advancement have also been identified within one department: Ari joined us in 2008 as a mail-order processor alongside his studies. The job felt like his own and today Ari manages the company's entire mailing department. In turn, our customer service salesperson Henry has managed to combine his dear hobby with his work. Henry is a keen photographer and has been helping customers for years to find the right equipment in our camera department. Growing with your passions, boldly seizing new opportunities — this is what Verkkokauppa.com's employees are made of.
