The old grate warped after 15 years or so. This new one is thick and sturdy.

i gave my son one of my grills it needed a new grate and new ash fan blades

After 11 years of use, my Weber Charcoal Grate was due for a refresh. It was still functional, however, it was time for a new one. When my new grate arrived, I noted that it was very well constructed with thick, heavy steel. I'm sure it will last another 10 plus years. A good value!

This charcoal grate fits very well in my Weber 22" Performer Deluxe Grill. It looks to be made of strong steel. Very happy with the purchase.

This is the bottom grate for the charcoal, not the top grate for the food, and as such it's right on top of the heat & needs to be solidly-made. It's a thick steel(I think) and fits perfectly in the bottom of my Weber. My old charcoal grate finally caved in & I needed a replacement. I would recommend this grate, but buy it directly from Weber. That way it fits the way it's suppose to.

Like the cooking grate I ordered this was a perfect fit and replaced a very old, very old, and worn out item (70's Weber kettle)
