The sear grate worked well. I got nice grill marks. One may want to add some spray to prevent sticking. I did not but it worked well.
Sear grate is an understatement, this thing is great! My steak game is on a different level now!
I have just used the sear grate for the first time. I was rolling some asparagus across the grate and noticed three cracks across it. I’m afraid it will crack all the way across and fall in the coals.
The only thing better then this is the kettle itself. Can’t beat it for especially steak
This is just what I needed for my gourmet barbecue system. It does a great job and it is also very easy to clean and store. Definitely worth the money.
The mass & thickness of this grate don't show in the photos - it's a solid solid fella, that does a great job searing multiple steaks.
Great sear grate. Coupled with a vortex, perfect sear marks. Careful not to drop it or the tabs that hold it into the GBS will break off.
Heats up nice and hot. Easy to clean. Leaves the marks I like on my steak. Looks as though it should last quite a few years.
If you have spent the money on the Gourmet BBQ System for your Weber. This is the best accessory you can buy for it. Perfect cross sear on every steak.

I've used cast iron grates in the past. I enjoy this system is integrated into the weber system. I've cooked about 4x with it now and it produces good grilling marks. I enjoy it and recommend it.
I received the delivery with a box that had been open. The grate had one piece broken off it. Still functional, but not a good experience. The grate, if not received broken would have received a five star rating. The grill itself is awesome though.
Excellent addition to my Weber 22" grills, makes searing easier with nice brandings.
Would rather have the entire grill in this material. Removing the grill while charcoal gets ready is a hassle as the insert will not stay in the normal grill.
Excellent grill. Does exactly as it’s described to do. Nice appetizing grill marks on the cuts of meat being cooked. Well made.
Just used these for searing some pork chops and steaks and they turned out phenomenal, I used my Vortex under the sear station and it created an inferno of heat. Very well built with some heft to them.
One of the 4 edges has already broken, so it wobbles in the grate.
