Arvosana 5/5I bought my orginal micro soundlink a couple of months ago becuase of the great sound and portable size. I decided to try another on linked to it through the Bose connect app and was blown away by the quality of the sound in party mode. Connecting the wto devices was simple and the ability to move either speaker whilst maitaining the link was great. I look forward to the summer when I can use them outdoors for BBQ's and parties. Arvosana 5/5Summary Pros: Best and loudest sound I’ve experienced from a small speaker Waterproof Shockproof Great strap to attach to things Cons: Lacks treble and bass heavy No ‘skip track’ functionality I’ll launch right in! It weighs about as much as a cup of coffee and has a nice design overall. It’s got a rubbery-tactile feel and an easy-to-use clip which seems robust and stretches to go around a bag strap, or my bike’s handlebars. It has a very simple latch so is easy to use and feels robust. It speaks to you to help with setup and knows the name of my phone...very cool. Setup is easy with the app which is of course, well designed. In use, it’s significantly louder than my iPhone 7, perhaps 10x louder. It vibrates a bit when above half volume but won’t vibrate off of anything due to the rubbery coating (though it did vibrate my glasses off of it when I left them resting on the speaker!). There’s no ability to skip tracks which is a shame, but there’s a brilliant volume function. It has more volume options than the phone, meaning one press of the volume up on an iPhone is actually six clicks of volume up on the speaker. This is a good thing! It allows more control over the specific volume. The sound. Well, it does great on a bag or on my bike as you’re close to it. In a field it gave enough volume for a few of us at up to around 10m away. It got wet on both occasions and just vibrated the water right out! In the home, it fills my living room enough to create good background music at a party I had, and I can have it at max volume without distortion. I did play about with my phone’s EQ to get the right sound for me, as it’s good on the mids, but lacking in the treble for my liking. The bass is naturally Bose and deep: it’s actually really nice to hear from a little speaker and feels very sub-woofer-y. Volume up and down is quite easy to find. Speaker has more volume options than the phone, meaning one press of the volume up on an iPhone is actually six clicks of volume up on the speaker. This is a good thing! It allows more control over the specific volume. It’s quieter on calls than when playing music (likely so the caller doesn’t hear it I guess) and calls are actually really good! It’s like having your phone on speaker and both parties can hear clearly (think how often that’s useful when you’re using a Bluetooth speaker, like on your bike!) As calls are good, I dare say this could be easily used as a hands free kit in a car if you didn’t have one. It’s certainly loud enough for that. Arvosana 5/5Not my first Bose speaker but very impressed with the design, size and overall sound quality. Terrific sound quality for such a small device. Similar ease of use and connectivity to devices so no issues. Ideal size for day trips and being waterproof gives you peace of mind when outdoors for long periods. Arvosana 5/5[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little beauty does a great job Using it with iPhone it’s simple to set up And playback sound is great Mainly old school punk and rock with a bit of mellow classics at times. I will buy this again so we can use in multi rooms and when needed use together in same room or outdoors. Batter is what they say 6 hours ( sometimes more) Dropped it in a hot tub on a ski trip no problems worked great when it got picked out. Would like a better colour option rather than navy black or orange please.
