Well worth the money + more - this go to 11 :)
Arvosana 5/5

I’ve had the SSL2+ for about 3 weeks now and used it almost every day.

The best part of it is multiple headphone and monitor ports for listening to mixes.High quality sound with low noise,2 headphone outputs/volume controls, 4k mode for vintage character, 4 extra RCA outputs.

Pity that headphone sockets are at the back of the unit. Metering could be more detailed and there’s no led light to indicate when 48v phantom power is on. That’s really annoying. On the other hand, SSL 2+ is relatively unique in that it provides the option of separate phantom power for each channel, rather than turning it on or off globally. Btw ,cool feature of the phantom power switch is that both mic inputs are temporarily muted to prevent potentially damaging clicks or pops commonly heard when engaging power.

I love that it includes a Legacy 4k button, allowing an instant replication of the famous SSL 4000 series consoles. On both inputs. I noticed there’s a lot of headroom, even when you’re recording with low signal dynamic mics. The preamps are very quiet.

The unit also comes with 1m USB-C to USB-C Cable and 1m USB-A to USB-C Cable. That’s especially suitable after my new MacBook doesn’t have the USB anymore.

Funny how the giant blue monitor level knob amusingly goes all the way to 11:)

A nice feature, not available on all audio interfaces, is the monitor mix dial, which adjusts volume of the DAW playback with the microphone/instrument signal. Next to that is a ‘stereo’ button which combines both microphone/instrument inputs into a mono signal.

Especially I appreciate the 2 5 pin midi in and out sockets, not available on other converters of that class.

To summarize: it is a very capable audio interface with high audio quality and well worth the money if you’re looking for a usb midi/audio interface.
