Less than £300 for this and the quality is excellent - makes such a difference to TV watching

Instructions vague, app not much help - emailed twice no reply - so back in box, deleted app & in a cupboard!

It took two attempts to set this up and I had to delete the app on my mobile and reinstall before it would seem to work. After the first attempt failed, my initial reaction was to put it back in the box and send it back. To be honest a simply plug in and play would be more to my taste. It has improved the clarity of sound from my tv but if you like a really beefy bass sound this doesn't deliver. Its a good looking unit, feels solid and very compact. Overall satisfied, however looks like I will have to add a bass module to complete my set up.

I brought this soundbar to fit into a TV stand cabinet, so width was limited in size, but not in sound quality.

This little soundbar didn’t disappoint and provides plenty of sound quality, richness and full volume.

I mainly brought it to couple up to my Bluetooth record player, which it does perfectly, but equally it connects to our Alexa music and obviously the TV.

I did have to by a HDMI arc lead as an extra, but worth it since now the TV recognises the soundbar and plays all the sound output through this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this product for about 2 weeks. I’ve found it to be a good product along with the bass 500 speaker. The only reason for 4 stars not 5 is that it could have had Apple Music compatibility like it does with Spotify and other music streaming apps. Yes it has airplay but you can’t use google assistant to play your music. I am thinking of buying to small speakers with it as I do like Bose products.

The first thing to note is the versatility. Good clear sound for the TV and radio, rich deep sound for music and a simple interface with Alexa to control loads of other things.

The next key point to make is that the sound quality is really good. Its sounds natural and clear, with a feeling of depth without too much bass. This has made watching movies together a thoroughly enjoyable experience. This may sound totally naïve, but we didn’t know that sound quality could make such a difference to our enjoyment of films and TV. For this alone I would recommend it to anyone. It easily connects to our Bose wireless headphones, which means you can listen to TV and music clearly even with other distractions going on within the same space.

As a designer I love the simple elegance of the design. It is heavy to hold, feels strong and well built. There aren’t loads of buttons or confusing options. All the fine tuning is done on an app on your phone. It’s a good size, not too long and not too short. We have 43 inch Samsung TV (Q60T) and it fits below the TV between the legs. If it were taller this could be a problem.

It all works. We have connected it to an old TV and a brand new one, it links with Alexa and connects to our phones. We have a low tolerance threshold for making things work and never read instructions. There is no need, everything works as you would expect it to straight out of the box.

In summary it is excellent, and not too expensive given the versatility and quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you know anything about Bose products you will know that the audio quality is always going to be superior to the products on the high street or well known electrical stores; this Sound Bar 300 does not disappoint.

The Sound Bar was longer than I expected and I was disappointed that it didn’t fit within my TV unit but sitting it on top off the TV unit hides the plugs and leads at the back of the TV; bonus. Despite this the Sound Bar isn’t too high or deep and it’s weight suggests quality throughout. It has a simple look, with no fancy features or flashing lights that give it a subtle look which blends into the room; you could forget it’s there. There are no visible speakers, no logo on the front, just black metal mesh and sleek led light.

The set up, connection to the Bose app and operation of the Sound Bar was exceptionally easy. Plug in the power, plug in the optical cable (or other cables based on your TV connectors) and pair it to the app; all directed as you go. Once you’ve connected your sound bar you can then add a voice assistant. Have a play with the sound settings, particularly the Bass as I found this heightened the audio experience. The remote control is small, so don’t lose it, slim and light weight. Self explanatory symbols are on each button so easy to operate. The only disappointing element I’ve experienced so far is not being able to enable the auto-wake option despite following the handbook.

The handbook has a number of pages but you only need 4 of them, the rest are the same but various languages. A more detailed guide is available on-line.

I'm not an avid movie watcher so I haven’t used the sound bar yet with this type of audio but I’ve got to say the audio clarity for many different music genres is fantastic. I’ve linked my Google Home to the Sound Bar and the connection is extremely fast when streaming through Spotify. The sound experience is immense; the depth of bass and crisp tones is what I would come to expect from Bose, trust me you will not be disappointed.

I wouldn’t say I've heard much difference when watching general TV with speech but the music through Strictly Come Dancing, for example, certainly intensifies the show. Watching sport could be better but without the spectator atmosphere in this current climate it’s not a fair comparison. I’m looking forward to when spectators return to stadiums.

However, what is a little frustrating is the standby time. When you pause the TV for say 10 mins the bar turns itself off; other than a very discreet red light, you can't tell that it's gone to sleep.

Full volume can certainly be heard in every corner of the house.

But there’s more! You can pair your bluetooth headphones with the soundbar and enjoy watching/listening without waking up your partner/family.

The Sound Bar is a sleek product with superior quality sound. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is after amazingly clear sound without a space or the aesthetics for floor standing speakers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impression was it looked quite sleek and modern but heavy! It was very easy to connect to TV and pairing it to the Bose didnt take long. The sound is very impressive from the first go. Its like a 3D version in sound quality. It enhances the total experience of listening to Music. Every genre of music is so distinctively crisp and wide. Its a total surround sound experience within such a compact soundbar.

It has many great features and best of all i could enable the Alexa app on it. For me its one device that is enough for having a home theatre setup and a wise investment. Super happy with the product.

The sound fills the room and as an added bonus I can integrate my other Bose speakers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been looking to add a soundbar to my tv for ages and knowing the good reputation that Bose has I have not been disappointed.

The box that arrived was HUGE, and I thought that there was no way it was doing to fit in front of my TV but the box is very deceptive and the soundbar fitted in perfectly. It’s a sleek looking long black soundbar that’s looks perfect in front of my black TV.

One thing to note is there a couple extra things you will need before you can install the soundbar, you will need an HDMI cable and a 2 pin adaptor (as my soundbar did not come with a UK plug socket). Luckily I had both and so was able to install straight away. Installation could not be easier, hats off to the Bose tech team, you simply download the Bose Music app and following the simple step by step instructions.

We love the fact that you can connect Amazon Alexa to it, again this was done some easily, and I quite offer come downstairs to my boys having a mini disco in the front room!

The sound quality is simply amazing, it adds a whole different level to watching the TV in some films it actually feels like you are actually there! The bass is fantastic and not too bassy. I have accidentally turned the soundbar off a couple of times and you can instantly tell the difference and it is quickly put back on. The only niggle I have is that it needs to be in an HDMI port that supports sound, my TV only has one of these, and by plugging the soundbar into this port it looses out volume control in that we can no longer see what number the TV volume is on. However this really is nit picking and is definitely worth losing for the sound quality that is gained by using the soundbar.

Hands down I would not choose a different soundbar, Bose you have not let me down!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our living room is about 35m2 and one speaker is enough to make a hole room field with sound. I'm not talking about simple straight sound pointing at you from one direction, I'm talking about overwhelming experience where only source of vocal can be found. That speaker is BOSE smart sound bar 300. I'm a fan of floor standing speakers with 5.1 or 5.2 configuration and powerful amplifier to run them, hence my thoughts were very sceptical about trying just a sound bar. I was mistaken. Before unpacking, my first impression was: "that's heavy"! With previous experience I knew that heavy speaker is a good speaker, in most cases. It's all black with the black mesh on the front and sidewalls, small BOSE logo on top of it and slim led light above the mesh in one of the corners. Very elegant and, I think, would blend to any interior design. I placed it just below the TV. Optical wire to tv, power cable to wall socket and you almost ready to go. To make the most of it you need to download the BOSE music app. Just from the habit I had disabled the location on the app and because of that it took me a bit longer to connect to speaker. After realising my mistake it was 2 min job. When I power it on, my jaw just dropped. The welcome theme impressed me so much that I wanted to try it in every possible way. Firstly I started from news channel. Voice of the reporter was very clear and didn't disappear in surrounding sounds. Was pointing straight at me and other sound made the space I could nearly sink into. Impressive!! I'm a big fan of sci-fi movies so my second choice was an Avengers movie. Again, characters' voices were coming straight from TV, but sounds of starships, explosions and other effects where everywhere! Few times I had to look to the side because I thought something was coming my direction! Sound quality, for me, it's close to perfection. Sharp highs, very wide mids and bass!! I just don't know how is it possible to squeeze so much bass into such a tiny speaker!!! It doesn't make the furniture vibrate but feeling it makes it's close to it. Impressive!! After news and movie was time to check full capability of it. Music. I don't have favourite genre so I tried every kind. From electric house, through hard rock and finishing on rap and reggae. My conclusion was the same, perfect quality to the point where those small speakers couldn't produce any more low tones. BUT it didn't disturb the quality overall, just the bass was less hearable. Perfect solution to enjoy the loud sound. After few hours of playing with settings through the app and getting more excited was time to check how "smart" it is. When setting up the app you are connecting your sound bar to wifi. Therefore you can stream any music or podcast straight on your device. "Alexa" commands were clearly recognized by speaker even while listening loud. You can control all the devices connected to your home network from your living room jut talking to the speaker. How crazy is that !! Impressed!! Finally I tried the most basic function these days, bluetooth. No delay, great sound like before, no disruption, just perfect. After few hours of use I wondered. If the speaker is already nearly perfect how would it be to have the surround speakers and subwoofer paired up?! So, conclusion is simple, perfect sound bar for small to medium space and added the sub and surround speakers even for large ones. Functionality is endless and pleasure of using it immense. I would recommend it to anyone with limited space but still with desire of perfect surround system imitation.

In the beginning, I was a bit sceptical with this product as I didn't have a good experience with the app, when you search for the app on Google play store there are a few which you can't quickly identify which one was it... As an IT professional I could manage to go through the first screens in order to set up but if you are a non-technical/tech person you may struggle to set this up within 10 minutes as it requires a lot of configuration and tech notion to go through quickly! I didn't like the lack of an option to connect to my Wifi 5Ghz it was only getting 2.4Ghz which for me is annoying, if you don't know the difference between them you will not even notice or bother.

Another point was, LG TV's are not fully compatible with this Smart Soundbar which is another frustration, I've had to go through the websites reviews, youtube, google and check whoever had the same TV and using the same soundbar in order to get my bose connected properly, therefore I couldn't control the sound using my TV so when I watch Netflix or TV Satellite I always need to use 2 remote control which sometimes is not great!

HDMI ARC - Be aware with that - If you don't have an HDMI ARC on your TV it will not work, in my case even with this HDMI port and after enabled it on my TV, it didn't work so I've had to use the Optical cable.

Now the positive points!

The integrations with Alexa and Google Home is smart and well handled, I've tested on both AI and it worked really well! I rathered to leave on Alexa due to the facilities and it's what I most own at home.

Spotify works PERFECTLY with this bose, you can connect it via Bluetooth or just connecting it through the Bose app, alternatively, you can control the track songs and volume via its own remote control. You can also connect TuneIn (can't say much about it as I don't have an account nor use it).

GROUP Speakers

This functionality is great as if you have more than one Soundbar or speakers/home theatre you can just group them up and set rules and configs to the group.

More than one person can connect to the same bose or group if needed

It's a perfect buy if you plan to use it to maximize and improve your experience at the comfort of your home and sofa to watch movies, series and even play songs using your soundbar! The BASS is awsome you feel like you are in the cinema watching movies with a lot of actions and sounds effects! I can tell you that if you are playing music as you can actually pretend you are in a club if you close your mind and start dancing or feeling the music you will feel like you are not at home whatsoever!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used a 5.1 home cinema system linked to a auxiliary receiver however we were keen to go wireless.

This Bose sound bar has exceeded our expectations in the sound quality, we felt only receiving sound from the front that it would not be the same as surround sound. There are wireless rear speakers and a sub woofer that can be connected and this is something we will explore in time.

The bar fits nicely in front of our LG smart tv and in fact hides any wires that were seen behind previously. The remote is small and very light, however simple and easy to understand.

The downloadable app is a must to be able to make adjustments. I would have like to seen some pre set options or ability to save your options.

I strongly suggest you change the standby to Never as the only other option is 20 mins. Frustratingly every time you pause your tv you’ll find your forever having to switch the bar back on again.

I now have it set up so that as soon as I turn on the sky box, the tv and sound bar come on at the same time.

The sound is amazing, we’ve watched action movies and the bass can literally shake the room. I’ve also linked my Spotify account via the app, the sound is crisp and clear, absolutely fantastic sound. I would not hesitate to recommend this sound bar, it really does live up to the quality of Bose.

I have also started using this for listening to music rather than my other products and again the sound quality is up there with the best I have used. The product looks good and fits nicely in front of the tv. The product is easy to set-up and link to the app. Also integrates with Apple AirPlay seamlessly which is a huge positive for me. I would say this sound bar is great value for money, great quality, great sound and not ridiculously expensive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently bought an OLED TV and though they are exceptionally impressive to watch and just even look at, the speakers are really not up the task. I have a home cinema but don't always want to turn the system on, especially when it comes to general viewing. This is where the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 comes in and solves all my problems.

The unit is sturdy and very well built (it is after all made by Bose); I was able to connect to it via the app on my iPhone with ease and managed to go through the setup process without any hiccups. From the app you can setup the Amazon assistant Alexa and also Google which is very handy. You can also connect to multiple music services (like Amazon Prime, Deezer, Spotify and Tune in radio), but it would be good to be aware you can't connect to apple music. As the bar supports Airplay you can however use that if you want to access your Apple Music.

The quality is great out of the box (compared to the TV) but I found that boosting the centre speaker a little and maxing out the bass (with no distortion at all) was my preference. I noticed you can also pair additional Bose speakers to the system which could perhaps make people with an older home cinema basically part with it - as you essentially create a similar setup from Bose, especially if paired with a woofer.

For me, the most impressive feature is that you don't really feel the sound is coming from a single source straight ahead of you and upon walking into the room my wife immediately noticed the difference and commented on how good it sounded.

You can connect the bar to the TV via HDMI, optical (cable included - probably the purest option) and also bluetooth (which also worked with relative ease but the sound quality suffers compared to optical).

Overall this is an exceptional soundbar that can also be wall mounted. Please be aware that if your tv is not wall mounted and has a stand with no clearance you will have a problem in terms of where to run the power cable from (and the optical or HDMI) i.e. you will not be able to pass the cables behind the tv as the bar sits in front of your screen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As you'd expect from Bose the sound produced from this smallish unit is second to none, lovely deep bass and clear treble. To get the most out of this you need to link it to a smartphone, because there is limited functionality in the tiny (and easy to lose), remote. If you are successful in linking it, you can access various Amazon music streams, which is a bit redundant if you have these on your phone as it can play music via Bluetooth. The voice enhancer is also only available on the app, why isn't this on the remote for ease of use?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bose 300 Sound Bar is as impressive as any of the other Bose products, I personally wasn’t disappointed.

To take full advantage of all the Bose Sound Bar you will need to connect to your home Wi-Fi, but once done you will be able voice command (Alexa ask Bose Too…) or use the remote to watch tv, play a radio station or listen to your music. I guess even if you do not use Wi-Fi you can still enjoy the main feature of this product which is the awesome sound.

All these leaps in technology just seem like an added bonus because where the real technology lies and what you really pay for is the superior sound quality and styling of this system. I’m using the Sound Bar without a Bass unit (which you would need to pay extra for), firstly to see what the sound was like without on and secondly I don’t think my neighbours would appreciate it. So as well as saving a bit of money I’ve still got a great sound system.

The bar seems to throw sound across the room because for example even our dog goes looking when he hears a noise outside our house yet it’s the new bar!

We live in an old former chapel with a ceiling more than five meters high and going from just a tv to having this Bose 300 has been amazing, you definitely get your monies worth.

The sound is crystal clear and you can amend the bass etc through the app depending on what type of programme or film you're watching or music you're listening to. The added bonus is the use of Google or alexa and no longer having to find remotes to turn sound up or down it does everything you need.

The sleek black design also accompanies the TV really well and doesn't stand out at all.
