                  Miinusta takeltelevasta ääniohjauksesta sekä siitä ettei osaa valmiista sovelluksista voi poistaa, vaikka niitä ei käyttäisikään. Näistä huolimatta hinta-laatusuhde on loistava!

We purchased this as liked the idea of the large screen with ambilight but mostly we wanted a smart tv that had all the catch up services available. We panicked before it came as reviews indicated that the catch up services were not available and came very close to cancelling the order.

On arrival, I will not lie, the product was a huge disappointment. The only catch up service on the tv that worked was channel 5. BBC iplayer was available as an app but the screen was just black, All4 was totally missing and there was no app available to download either, and itv player displayed a message saying it as not supported by the manufacturers OS.

We set about reading reviews to see if others were experiencing the same issues and thank goodness, one review told us “the fix”.

Upgrade the tv to the latest version, then reset the tv (not the factory reset) but one that takes you totally back to the beginning when you first plug it in, meaning you have to re-enter your details. With an aerial in the back of the tv, do a scan of the channels. The apps should now be available however may still show a black screen. Unplug your tv for a few minutes but when turned on again, everything works!

Considering there are a lot of very disappointed customers regarding this issue, I have written this review to share the “fix” that solved it for us. However, I believe that Philips should either be sorting this out prior to the TVs leaving the factory or sending a flyer out with step by step instructions.

Now we are very happy with the tv and it does everything that we wanted it to do.

Great TV lots of features built in Android TV and chrome cast Also now after the update it has Freeview Play with all the required catchup via iPlayer, All4, ITV Hub and My5 also has Satellite, Picture amazing (PS4 Pro OMG) and sound from built in speakers very good

Purchased this new 2019 model 50PUS7334/12 and as far as we’re concerned it’s a stunner! As soon as you unwrap it the quality hits you. Its light silver metal bezel and solid metal stand are class, well designed and faultlessly built. Cosmetically my only quibble is with the remote’s info being difficult to read on its silver background. Set up was easy for Wi-Fi, Google, Prime etc, by using the really good on screen keyboard. Selecting the “Home”display the picture is so good that we don’t feel the need for adjustments. Sound is fair, l will use headphones or put it through my Hi-Fi for decent movies. We aren’t using the Sat input as we use a Freesat recorder so are not concerned about the lack of channels 4&5. There are countless Apps plus Netflix and Rakuten Tv. As you would expect there is so much that this set is capable off, you can easy check these out online. And of course there’s Philips P5 engine, android tv, Dolby Vision.Atmos plus Philips ambilight 3 which really works well with so many different programs. This is our fourth Philips set which is replacing our seven year old Philips 37” PFL4007T now being used in our bedroom. The 2 year guarantee is also very welcome. Early days yet, but we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this set.

I am astounded by the quality of the picture, it is truly amazing. After owning a tv that was purchased in 2007 the picture quality has improved so much. The backlight gives an added bonus feature and I do not know how I could ever go back to watching a tv without a backlight anymore. Watching shows like blue planet etc, the picture is so clear and detailed, see dust floating in the air, the detail of icebergs and the backlight just lights up the whole wall. It’s a piece of magic.

This television is outstanding. The ambilight is a great addition. I tweaked my picture settings and what can I say, it’s such a great picture now! Out of the box I found the picture to be rather grainy, especially on dark background, however, with the right tweaking I’ve never seen a picture as good as this. Certain settings that you may feel will boost your picture quality are best turned off in my opinion, such as colour enhancement. I played around and got it to a great standard. Sky Q and YouTube in UHD/4K are amazing. I would definitely recommend this TV. I know some reviews have said the picture isn’t great, but with the right tweaking it can be. I’ve attached a photo to this review to show how I managed to boost the television’s quality. Overall I’m a really happy customer. I’ve always used a different TV brand, however I think I might just have been converted to Phillips now! Brilliant :-)

The colours are amazing, the sound is dolby atmos, 65inch screen is like being at the cinema, easy to set up and no problems whatsoever.
