Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II AM4 ATX-emolevy

Works a dream, my previous motherboard gave up the ghost so decided to upgrade and this was a very reasonable deal.

really good mobo better than the ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING and window 11 ready with it had the key ring holder like the 1st one

I won’t pretend to know a great deal but I can say it was a good price and was easy to install it to the case and all the components. The user software is awesome and Everything is running great and all working good. Definitely looking at other ASUs products.

good board loads of features what else do you need

Great motherboard. Plenty of features and fairly priced.

Acquired this board about 12 months ago, to replace a suspected faulty board, which in the end turned out to be faulty RAM.

As part of an upgrade, acquired a ryzen 9 AMD CPU , and dusted off this board ( after 12 months in storage) , inserted the CPU, wired everything up, and then nothing .....

The Bios would not even POST.

After inquiring with my friend Google search, it turns out that this board is ryzen 5 + ready, but not out of the box. Downloaded the bios update onto memory stick, and inserted into the appropriate Bios update USB port ( marked on the backplate , so do not lose this, this port is not in the documentation !!)

This is where I was impressed, the bios can be update without a CPU and / or RAM on the board. Just follow the instructions ( plenty of youtube videos also ) , and then the board comes to life, and everything works as expected.

The whole process was in reality very easy, just requires a little patience.

The board has 64GB RAM ( will not support any higher ) , with 2 M2 drives. The performance is blistering, it is equivalent to upgrading to a Ferrari if you had a Nissan Micra .

Installed windows 11 and the apps are fast.

This is not a gaming rig, so cannot comment in terms of game performance (any my graphics card is old ) . Used for business apps and development.

For example, installing Sql Server 2022 took 5 minutes, compared to 45 minutes on the old machine with spinning disk drives .

You really need to upgrade to M2 drives for OS if using this board.

So far so good, fast boot up times, and smooth system performance, even with windows 11, which can be a heavy consumer of resources with Microsoft development tools installed

If buying a board today, I would look at the B550 boards, as these are the latest offerings for similar budget.

I have fitted my new ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II motherboard

And installed my new Ryzen 7 5800x I installed the OS and it is running like dream

I did not have any issues with the new board and a at great price

Great piece of kit

Rog certainly know what they are doing
