LG UltraGear 27GP950-B 27" 4K -pelinäyttö

My first 4k monitor and it's not disapointed!! Great quality and colour brought new life to my games and Photo manipulation. Haven't noticed any light bleed and responce is great, Highly recomend :)

Bought this as I have an Xbox series X and PS5. Had quite a few monitors but this is the only one I've had which makes HDR look good on Destiny 2. All others I've had to switch HDR off. Well worth the money.

I bought this monitor due to want to play native 4K gaming with HDR and 144Hz.

This monitor design and build quality is great.

With the narrow bezel, it helps the desk looks concise.

I love how the LED at the back is lighting according to my screen (by setting), it helps to improve immersion when gaming or watching films.

Beautiful display, 4k 144hz output with HDR600 is fantastic. The 16 local dimming zones are mediocre at best however, and some users may prefer to switch local dimming off as you're limited to 16 vertical strips of brightened area, which looks terrible when you have a single bright point on the screen that doesn't extend vertically.

However, I had major issues trying to mix HDMI and DP. The screen kept going black as if disconnecting, yet was still detected in Windows 10 display properties (and the desktop didn't re-arrange as if it had disconnected). This doesn't seem to have anything to do with settings, which can help reduce frequency of this error but the only thing that ultimately resolved the issue for me was using only Display Port connections for my multi monitor setup. Many other users of this monitor appear to be having similar issues, one poll of 40 users suggesting 50% of them.

Next, when you switch source on this display it disconnects the monitor, causing that device to rea-arrange the desktop as if it had been unplugged. I've never seen this behaviour before and since I switch source very frequently it's a very annoying drawback as Windows takes a while to re-configure multi-monitor and sometimes doesn't always do it correctly.

Finally, I had to send it back after a week as it had a TAB failure. I'm currently waiting on the replacement to arrive, which with the shortage of stock at the moment on this model means in September I'm still waiting to use the monitor that I paid for in July.

This monitor should be a market leader, but it simply isn't worth buying in my opinion. I've had mine for just over 2 months and feel very frustrated with the intermittent black screen problem. I have tried the DP cable that came with the monitor and 3 others but changing cables makes no difference. Just when you don’t need it the screen goes black and stays black for a couple of seconds. During one session this happened 17 times in 30 minutes, and I had to shut down my PC and walk away in sheer frustration. I can go for a week and not experience a single black screen and then just as I start to regain my confidence in it, the screen blacks out again.

There is no way I would recommend this monitor as it is. Why LG have not fixed this yet is beyond me as the “black screen” issue is well documented on various sites. I have seen reviews of people having theirs exchanged just to experience the same black screen on their replacement.

Look elsewhere people, this monitor is doing my head in!
