Terrible remote, the wheel is also the select button so when overly used, it can easily break, and the roller button is literally standing on two tiny plastic pieces which can snap upon any small impact or hard usage

After less than 2 years, the remote is broken (track ball fell inside and now EVERY button has the same function: play / pause). Seems to be not an isolated case looking at other reviews.

I'm not one for complaining, I'm happy to buy another despite the risk of a repeat, but MR22GN is discontinued. Believe it or not, according to LG themselves, the 2023 version, MR23GN, is not compatible with my TV.

So what am I supposed to do? Less than 2 years after spending a sizeable 4-figure sum on a top of the range OLED G2 product, I'm reduced to looking for some cheap aftermarket remote that will no doubt be even worse than the inadequate original.

By all means discontinued it, but you must have a compatible alternative?! The whole thing smacks of taking the customer for granted.

Next time I buy Sony.

I've had this remote control for 6 months and I absolutely hate it, doesn't respond quickly and often doesn't respond at all. I wish I'd never bought the LG tv.

Very poor quality. Bought LG TV in December with Magic remote, remote stopped working at the end of May and had to be replaced. The middle wheel ok button would not click and so TV not accepting commands. Cant believe such an expensive TV came with such a poor quality remote.

Clumsy to use. With the lack of media control buttons (play/pause, back, forward ands stop) it is extremely annoying to navigate through a film when watching.

Depending on what you're watching on, it can take up to four clicks to resume a film, and normally about two to pause, which is annoying if you're trying to pause on a specific frame.

Plus, sometimes the pointer activates when you're using the ok button to resume/pause, which means it doesn't do anything and you have to fight the remote to do what you want.

The sponsored Netflix, Prime, Disney, Rakuten, Google assistant and alexa buttons are also infuriating. The number of times they have accidentally been pressed while watching a film, dragging us to the store page to install one of these services which we never want to use is annoying. I would rather the buttons were customisable because no one in my family will ever use one of these buttons.

I would trade the gyroscope in for the media control buttons and the removal of the sponsored buttons any time. The pointer functionality of the gyroscope isn't that useful, and doesn't even work in some apps, and after owning it for about a year, I've start to not use the pointer anymore, but I still miss the lack of media control buttons.

Worst remote I've ever used!

Middle button broke in just over a year. Never had a remote not last years before. Very disappointing and very expensive to replace.

Pointer is unnecessary and annoying, buttons unresponsive especially down button which is warn out already, heavy on batteries, stuck with it as others do not work with tv. Very expensive to replace for something fairly new

Literally just came on here to warn people of this remote and also how it makes my lg g1 (which is supposed to be top of the range) terrible. Even from new the remote was stiff and really hard pushes are needed to use certain buttons, now 1 year on you have to actually hurt your finger for certain buttons to work and even then 50% of the time the press doesn't register.

I would say don't buy this remote and don't buy an lg tv for this very reason. The TV itself is amazing.

It's funny aa my girlfriends bottom of the range 5 year old TV remote works fine...ironic

Just awful, doesn’t work, buttons unresponsive and some I have to press sooo hard and it is tacky, battery cover is poor and I detest the way the wheel works. Awful remote which ruins an otherwise great tv

LG C2 purchased in Nov 22. The TV is brilliant but the remote lets it down. The main way to interact with the TV and the button icons start to rub off in 3 months? That surely seems like a fault which LG need to address. I'll be in touch looking for a replacement shortly when the icons are unrecognisable.

Not having a button dedicated for pause/play also seems like a mistake. The scroll wheel likes to scroll when pressure is applied so misclicks are frequent.

All in all, a great idea but the execution was a bit lacking. Particularly disappointed with the button icons fading after such little time!

perfect remote does eveything well . just make sure you have durqcell batteries. had it for like 1 year and it's been a treat . I don't know why all these people dont like it but to me it's the best remote ever

Kjust over 12 months old and the thumb wheel collapsed not good

The buttons are horrible you have to press them so hard in order to work I have opened mine just to see how its made and its made so bad if LG HAVE PAID to someone to design it its been waste of money some kid would do it much better. LG you don't test your remote before you put it on the market for sale?

Functionally, this remote works well and it feels comfortable to hold. I would've given it 5 stars were it not for the fact that the numbers and letters rubbed off and became virtually unreadable after only 3 months (see photo). I don't feel this should be happening with a TV of this price.

Thiis could be a great remote, however the buttons are not very responsive, you have to depress them fully to get them to activate the function. My wife prefers the Amazon remote, as the buttons are much more responsive.

No Play, Pause, Stop or Subtitles buttons, the coloured buttons cannot be customised and the central scroll wheel button is very clicky, would not recommend and there is no way to use a replacement as this doesn't use IR.

The remote control is convenient in design and function.
