Not for MacArvosana 1/5
I wanted to have a monitor for both my Mac and Windows laptops. But it was mostly stupid idea of my life.
This monitor does not support screen connection via USB-C, so you still need to use HDMI or adapter for Display Port. It does not have 3.5 sound output. These 2 Type-C ports (third one is only for laptop) monitor has can be used only as USB hub, but 2 ports are not enough (as you need to connect keyboard, mouse and sound)
No matter what you use for connection, it does not support correct screen resolution natively on Mac, you need to use third party tools like "DisplayBuddy", "BetterDisplay".
The most annoying part is that the screen does not remember it's settings when you plug it out from laptop. On mac I use 16:9 aspect ratio as it's more useful for work to me (while 32:9 is better for gaming), but after re-plug it does not remember that I picked 16:9. So every time when I need to disconnect my Macbook I need to set aspect ratio manually after I plug it back. So annoying.
Also when you turn off and on the screen it shows you many popups like "HDMI-1 is connected" or "Gaming Mode is On". Every time. Even though you use you screen only for "computer" purpose.
Airplay does not work. Yeah it just does not work. No matter how hard I tried but I could not connect my Macbook via Airplay to this screen.
Samsung Smart TV turns this screen into TV, but not gaming screen. The OS makes it to overwhelming to use. I think my review can be applied to all Samsung screens as they have same OS - the most annoying bugs are software.
The picture is good, but all the software bugs makes it almost impossible to use.
Most disappointing purchase I've ever made. Please don't buy it if you're looking for smooth experience. Well, if you want to have a TV instead of gaming screen with 32:9 aspect ratio this is your best choice!
