Good with room for improvement.Arvosana 4/5
This is a good value for money 5G router at the price I got it but it lacks in some areas. The current firmware 1.16.2 has some known issues like authentication for guest networks does not work. Cudy support can provide a beta firmware though to address this until a new firmware is publicly available.
Lacking areas I feel are; Only has a quick install guide and no user manual (not even an electronic version). You'll need to work out some of the settings yourself but it is plug and play in that it should connect to your provider once a sim is inserted and its powered on. Time from boot to connection is quite slow at just over 1minute. The current QOS feature is very basic and only offers bandwidth limiting on connected devices. No QOS options presently to prioritize some devices or traffic types over others. Personally I feel the P5 could look better but that aside the build quality looks ok.
On the Plus side, having 4 SMA antenna connectors is a great plus, especially for those in poor coverage areas who need antennas, normally you need to pay more money for a 5G router with this. The Router supports 5G NSA (with CA) and this is important for those with 5G in more rural areas. We use Elisa and the P5 allows us to connect to B1+N28+N78 and this gives us the maximum bandwidth in speedtests our subscription allows (300Mbps down). The P5 also allows frequency bands to be disabled, very handy if your provider want to put you on a frequency band with limited bandwidth.
For the more experienced users, the ability to send AT commands to the P5s Quectel 5G module is included. This allows things like locking bands or changing IMEI number.
Over all Im happy with the the P5. Some other brands may offer better features in some areas, but the P5 allows has the ability to do some things those routers do not.
