Great all round set of headphones
Arvosana 5/5As a Bose QC35 user i was a bit skeptical when it came to these headphones. Did the cost of them equate to the improvement in quality, how wrong was I !!!!. From the moment I unpacked them, the design and feel of these headphones was a step up from my original QC35s. This was without even listening to them. I use them mainly when i travel to and from work on the train (two hours each way). Once i had charged them, I found that one charge was enough to last my working week (twnety hours of travel) and still have around 30% charge left. I didnt believe the sound quality counld surpass the QC35s I already own but even on a flat response setting on the equalizer, the sound quality is fantastic. The new App that you can dowload for free from either iTunes or Play Store (depending on you device) makes connecting your device very simple. The headphones allow you to connect two devices at the same time and switch between the two. powering up the headphones is very simple, use the button on the rear of the right headphone, after this, just pick the heaphones up and they turn on, put them down and they will turn off. Once turned on, there are three different listening modes that you set the headphones to in the app. These are Quite, Aware and Immersion. As I tend to listen to listen mostly when i travel, Immersion mode is the best for noise cancelation. Be aware though, Immersion mode will eat up your battery life quicker, I tend to get around twenty hours on this mode. If your listening at home then quite mode is more than suitable. The equalizer comes with four preset modes, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, Bass Reducer and Treble Reducer. They are good but I like the fact I can also adjust the equalizer manually to my own preference. Obviously the most important when buying a pair of headphones is the sound quality. You will not be dissapointed with these. As i said earlier, I owned a pair of Bose QC35s for six years now and didn't believe they could be bettered, how wrong I was. They aree not just a little better, they are a whole heap better. The sound quality is aamazing, the sound is crisp and clear no matter what mode or equalizer setting you set them to. They are also the most comfortable headphones i have ever worn. I can waer them for hours at a time without any discomfort whatsoever. So all in all i would highly recommend the Quiet Comfort Ultras to anybody looking for a superbly manufactured set of headphones with great sound. Arvosana 5/5I have been using Bose quietcomfort headphones for a few weeks now and I am very impressed by them. They noise cancelling is top tier, audio is excellent and has strong bass and most of all the headphones are comfortable for long periods of use. The features that I love about them: Noise cancelling: The noise cancelling on these headphones is amazing. I can block out any unwanted sounds and focus on my music, podcasts or calls. I can also adjust the level of noise cancelling to suit my environment, whether I need full quiet, some awareness or a custom setting. The headphones also have a wind block feature that reduces the noise of breezy conditions. Audio quality: The sound quality on these headphones is superb. They deliver clear, balanced and immersive sound that makes me feel like I am in a live concert. I can also use the adjustable EQ to fine-tune the bass, treble and mid-range to my liking. The headphones also have a high-quality microphone that picks up my voice clearly and reduces background noise during calls. Comfort: The comfort of these headphones is unmatched. They have a lightweight and ergonomic design that fits snugly on my ears and head. The ear cups are large, soft and breathable, and the headband is flexible and durable. I can wear these headphones for hours without feeling any fatigue or discomfort. The only area of improvement for me and by no means a big deal they do attract fingerprints. Arvosana 5/5I've been using these headphones for hours a day since I got them. They're really comfortable so far. Initially they had a bit of a gross smell, I don't know if this is from the case or headphone materials but it's nearly worn off. At first glace I thought these looked like decent quality but the only thing that lets them down is the padding on the top band and ear cups. It does look like it will crack/peel quickly. Having had this issue with 2 of my last 3 Bose headphones I'm disappointed they haven't used a sturdier material but only time will tell. The headphones are easy to set up. Download the Bose Music app, connect, and you can change all the settings easily within the app. Personally I think the immersive sound is a game changer for blocking out noise. It sounds like the music/dialogue is in the room around you and my wife has had to take drastic measures to get my attention as I can't hear anything else. I love the ability to sync to up to 10 devices at a time and be able to cycle through them. The headphones do try and switch devices when you play sound through a different linked device but it doesn't always get this right. Occasionally it won't change devices or it will change devices even when sound isn't being played. It's not a huge deal breaker for me, as it's quick to use the button on the ear cup to cycle back to the device you need. The volume can be changed using an area on the ear cup (slide your finger up or down to adjust the volume as needed. This isn't as sensitive as I would have liked and doesn't always register my touch. I really like the auto feature of reconnecting to devices within 24 hours when you put the headset on, no manual reconnecting needed. The battery lasts me around 2 work days (18 hours) of continuous use. According to the box it should be 24 hours. I can't say what the quality of the mic is lik as I haven't heard it myself but I haven't had direct complaints during online meetings. Arvosana 5/5The build quality on Bose QC Ultra's is outstanding – the aluminium connecting the headband to the ear cups combined with the ultra-soft headband covering make the headphones feel really premium. The fit is equally impressive with the headphones sitting snugly, without excessive clamping force on your head – so far I’ve been able to wear them for several hours at a time without any discomfort. The controls on the headphones are mercifully simple with only a Bluetooth connection button (which can also be used to force the headphones on and off if you don’t want to use the autosensing function) and a button to switch between sound modes, so you're not fumbling around wondering if you've pressed the right button. There is also a touch sensitive volume control strip on the earcup but this requires a little practice to get the hang of. Turning on the headphones immediately produced a prompt on my phone to connect and download the companion app and create a Bose account. The whole process was very streamlined and it was less than a minute before I was into the app and listening to music. The noise cancelling on the QC Ultra is hands-down the best I’ve experienced. If you haven’t experienced noise cancelling before it can be a bit of a shock when the world around you appears to vanish into almost complete silence and the QC Ultras live up to Bose’s reputation for being market leaders at noise cancellation. It’s not just about shutting the world out though, the “Aware” mode makes interacting with people in busy settings a lot easier as it continues to suppress background noise while allowing you to hear someone talking to you nearby (or hear an approaching siren, car beeping etc). The sound quality is also top-notch, producing a very tight, well-balanced sound. You can tinker with the sound settings using the mobile app but right out of the box they’re extraordinarily well-rounded. Immersive audio is a nice feature – it doesn’t work in every genre but when it does work it sounds great. Speak-to-chat is also a nice touch if you’re out and about but probably needs a bit of polishing so you don’t keep accidentally activating it. The Bose QC Ultra are the best headphones I’ve used. The build and sound quality is superb, the noise cancellation is market leading and not only makes listening to music a more pleasing experience, it is useful in busy or very noisy environments. Arvosana 5/5These are the best headphones that I have ever had. The sound quality is amazing and the noise cancelling is unreal. The rich tones and warmth that feeds into your ears is like nothing I have ever experiences before. Being able to reach through the full range and pick up on the smallest detail in every song. I was on the last train from Manchester in Aware mode the other night and the train was full of merry revellers having had seemingly a good night. I flicked the device into Immersion mode (full noise cancelling) and I could have been alone in the carriage. It's scarily good. I also use these during the day to listen to music and take calls through MS Teams. The connectivity and ability to have 2 devices connected makes transition from Spotify on my phone to my laptop seamless. The headphones are surprisingly comfortable and I have worn them for several hours at a time in back to back meetings and not once have I had that sqeezed headache you get after an hour of wearing other headphones. They are super easy to connect and look great. They also come with a case for protection. Arvosana 5/5The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are a spectacular piece of kit for any seasoned traveller. I myself personally struggle to sleep on an aircraft, the noise of the engines, the sound of the cabin ventilation system and the hussle and bussle of other passengers make it an impossible task and my brain just doesn't rest. With my QuietComfort headphones though this problem is absolutely resolved. It's like when you put the headphones on and enable the ANC, it feels like you hit the mute button on the TV. All those background noise, all the vibration type sounds, the drone of the engines, all switched off with the ANC button. The headphones are remarkably comfortable, the sound quality is truly superb and they are adjustable as well as having controls on the side. The Bose app is also a great addition allowing two connected headphones to received the same audio which is great for when I'm watching Netflix on the iPad and my wife is travelling with me. Arvosana 5/5I’ve had these headphones around a week already and I love them! They are super sleek, the different modes are so good, and I like how you can adjust them too. The battery life lasts so long (I’ve only had to charge them once since they arrived!) a really great investment.
