I purchased this printer combo after my HP one died, prior to that one, I always used BROTHER! So, it was back to what I know, and guess what it's even better! Paper TRAYS, not just 1, I'm very absent minded and think printer is broken, but just run out of paper!

There are some nice features as standard.

You can scan directly to many cloud based destinations - such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Sharepoint,, one drive, as well as to email, one-note. It also allows scanning to FTP/SFTP/Network/PC folder and of course a local USB drive.

The USB/Network connection is weird in that it is under the Scanning area, but does work. There is a Unique admin Password which is used to change some settings and also I believe for remote email printing. You can email a document to a brother.com email address which then prints it to the printer. I haven't tried this yet.

The printer allows you to set up multiple one-touch commands, such as Scan a Document, output as PDF and store on Google Drive. This is achieved through small wizards. They also provide a web interface to help with certain things, although not this functionality. There is a separate application which handles the print and scan features speifically - but the features on this a limited somewhat and could be improved very much

OCR Scanning worked quite well in my test - it took about 10 seconds to generate the text file directly to my PC for one A4 printed document

Photo Scanner is OK. Not great for photographs, but good for documents and written text.

Scanning at max resolution takes around 30 seconds, but is no better than lower resolution - if anything its worse.

The Printer is very fast - much more than my old Canon. It literally shoots out printed pages (they actually have a page stopper to stop the pages flying out to the ground) The colours are good, but i would say slightly muted. I used the same paper as my old Canon.

Fax has 99 shortcuts but i havent used this at all so cannot comment

It doesnt like Glossy premium paper. The photographs come out with far too much red. On normal paper it seems to be a bit better. Text on glossy paper is very bad.

There is no way to use the rear tray via the software settings. if paper is in the rear tray - it may or may not use it. It does not print to a 6x4 inch paper, even though the rear tray

By far the worse aspect is the printer driver software. You cannot print booklets, nor passport photos - there is no way of controlling anything like that. its Very poor software

After having this for a few months, I noticed that the printer goes through a clean cycle (using valuable ink) even if you havent used it. It does it anyway. Recently I upgraded the firmware, and found out that it now does this even when the printer is OFF, but has an electricity feed! If i print 1 page or no pages for a month, it does this anyway. Needless to say my printer ink is depleting faster with these self-cleaning cycles than i am actually using. I walked away from Epson due to their ink-subscription, and now Brother are using dirty tactics as well.

I've been using my new printer only couple of weeks but I have to say that I am so impressed by how great this printer works . People say that it is like retro style but I see it as a modern printer with all needed accessories and features helpful for even small business . I've got it for home use . First of all the printer itself is great . The Quality of printing is amazing and I was so impressed by printing a double sided document as more quick as I expected and after scanning my documents from the printer directly into my mobile phone my great feelings about choosing of buying of right printer just doubled . Overall the printer has a good medium size , good features like double sided printing and too many options for scanning , for an example : to iCloud , email address ,usb drive and more . The price is a reasonable for that printer as the look and quality overall amazing .

Bought two weeks ago as a replacement; delighted with ease of set-up, general quality of product and print. Very happy with purchase.

I have had the printer for about a fortnight. It was easy to set up. It reacts very quickly when I require a print and doesn’t need to keep cleaning itself as my previous Canon did. The trays are easy to use as is the screen.

This is one of the best printer i ever had,very good functions and speed of printing, I recommend it to everyone.

Cannot say enough how pleased I am with this purchase - this printer does EVERYTHING you need for the office - plus it is a decent size too. So impressed and blimey - relieved as well. Hadn't considered a Brother machine before now but so glad I chose it.

The printing speed was quick and smooth and quality of print is sharp, the operational noise was no more than other printers.

The screen could have been a bit larger but was useable.

The scanner works really well just scan it in goes straight to my phone or laptop and I can add it to where I need it really easy. Scanning is easy as well I did not have any issues with it.

I printed around 200 pages since beginning and did not have any paper jams issues.

Really great buddy to your office which I use it daily and can say that work properly.

It is also easy to connect to the WiFi and your phone so that you can print wirelessly from anywhere, even out of the house. I have used the printer for general household printing, children’s homework and also for work documents. The printing is extremely fast and of a high quality. The printer also looks stylish and is a great addition to our house. I’m impressed by the speed and ease of all printing. The Brother app is also very easy to use and edit before printing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This printer is perfect for what I need it for. The paper trays hold loads of paper, meaning I won’t have to refill them multiple times a day like my old printer.

The ink cartridges are huge and will last for thousands of pages, they are easy to install and print high quality, bright pictures.

Downloading and setting up the app was quick and easy. The layout of the app is great and makes everything clear. It is also easy to print things over WiFi, and is often quicker than using the app.

One fault I found was that when printing photos with lighter colours in them, the picture is often orange toned, this may be a fault with my printer, however I mostly print text so this doesn’t bother me too much. It was also slightly louder than I expected.

This is a great printer and I have happily recommended it to my colleagues and friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been working from home since April last year and found my old printer frustratingly slow in printing & scanning. This Brother printer has changed that.

Installation was straight forward, connecting it to my WiFi router and printing the initial test pages were quick & easy to do.

The only issue I had was inputting the password into the touchscreen. It’s a little small and my fat fingers kept catching the wrong character. This was easily resolved by using the eraser end of a pencil to select the password.

The video I’ve uploaded shows the printer operating in quiet mode, which is a massive improvement on my old printer. It does slow the printing a little but that’s not a major issue for me.

Colours and print quality are good. The colours appear a little dull but as I’m not looking for high quality gloss photos, I don’t see it as an issue. I’ve uploaded a sample showing the original photo with the printed photo below.

The printer does not dual scan, which is something I miss. I have a lot of double sided pages I need to scan, it would’ve been 4 stars had that facility being included. When advertising as a home office product, I do think this would be one of the facilities you’d expect.

Printing from wifi is easy, but it also has an app allowing you to print from your phone, ideal for me as I run my business via my mobile, so I need to print directly and not have to turn on a laptop

I have unboxed it as soon as its arrived I just couldn't wait to try it out. It came with everything I needed and installation of the ink cartridges was very straight forward as the touch screen tells you what to do step by step. I am using this for my business and the quality of the prints have been just outstanding. Prints very quickly and efficiently. Couldn't ask for a better printer. It does great job and have used it on a daily basis I just really can't fault it in a slightest.

Also comes with multiple input trays & a USB Host port . The build quality is very good with a 2.7 inch touch screen which you use to input your settings can be a little lacking in contrast, especially on a bright day.

Installation and setup was very quick and under 4 mins. The only issue was inputting the password using touch screen and hence used WPS which was quick and connected in a iffy.

The print speeds are amazingly fast and officially claimed at 20ppm. Printing can be done dual side and its very fast & quiet compared to some other branded printers. Quality of prints in great and colours are great as well.
