Fantastic TV, colour and sound Fantastic, easy to install this is why I always buy Philips TV's

So, this TV has some cool features, but it’s not perfect. The Mini LED display delivers bright, punchy colors and solid contrast, especially in HDR, but the local dimming can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes dark scenes look great, and other times, the brightness shifts in weird ways, which can be distracting.

The Ambilight feature is definitely unique and makes watching movies more immersive, but it’s not for everyone. Some people love it, while others find it a bit gimmicky or even distracting, especially if you prefer a more natural viewing experience.

Sound-wise, it’s okay for a TV, but don’t expect anything amazing. It has Dolby Atmos, but without a soundbar, it doesn’t really live up to the hype. If you care about audio, you’ll probably want to upgrade the sound.

The Google TV interface is mostly smooth, but it can feel a little sluggish at times, especially when switching between apps.

Overall, the Philips 55PML9009 is a decent mid-range TV, but it’s not flawless. The picture quality is good, and Ambilight is a nice touch, but the inconsistent local dimming and average sound might be dealbreakers for some. If you’re after a bright, feature-packed TV and can live with its quirks, it’s worth considering, but there are other options in this price range that might be more polished.

The Philips 55PML9009 is honestly an amazing TV. The picture quality is fantastic—sharp details and vibrant colours really make everything look incredible, whether you’re watching movies or just regular TV. The operating system is super easy to use, so navigating between apps and settings doesn’t feel like a hassle at all. One of my favourite features is the LED backlight. It adds such a nice glow to the room, especially in the evenings, and it really enhances the overall viewing experience. For the price and quality, I think this TV is a brilliant choice and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great all-rounder!

Philips ditched android and is using their in house TitanOS. No customisation options, complete lack of parental control over apps and content (you can only pin lock adult apps not block individual apps or even remove some of them), Apple TV still not available. The only good thing is that it is quick and responsive but it's the absolute worst "smart" tv i ever used. Shame.

After viewing the same TV at my daughters I thought what a lovely clear and distinct picture it was so just had to get one for myself and with the changing back lighting it is a fantastic viewing experience and the sound quality is also great.
