I have owned dozens of electric shavers over the years, the last 2 or 3 being Phillips.

I can honestly say that this is the best yet, leaving my skin feeling very smooth with no irritation. And I love the self cleaning facility.

Lovely clean shave. Easy to clean and battery life very good.

Putting the plastic cover on and off the shaver head feels like either the head or the cover will break. Takes some time to complete a shave and even then still feel some stubble. Plastic cover was missing from the box, had to buy it separately.

Far better than my old razor. Modern triple head is fantastic.

Premium shaver produces improved results compared to previous 3000 series. Very happy with series 5000 good battery life and fast motor.

This shaver is so light and quiet I was actually disappointed when I first turned it on as all my previous shavers were loud and sounded fast. I have also only ever used foil shavers and wasn't sure how I'd get on with this, but I had always struggled with foils as they took ages, they got hot and were sore using.

So when I first shaved (dry) with this it was like a dream! I had five days growth, which my foil shaver would not be able to cut. But the Philips S5887 shaver dealt with it like ease. And it was so comfortable! Honestly the best shave I have ever had! It even gave a close shave right under my nose, which I struggle with using a blade unless I cut from different angles. And the pop up cutter was so easy to use too.

Cleaning it was a breeze. The top pops open, run it under the tap and you're done.

Next I tried the wet shave with shaving foam and it was so smooth and comfortable. And running it under the water as the shaving foam built up meant the shave was easy and again, by the end, the shaver was totally clean.

The charging time is brilliant too. Took me less than an hour and so far I haven't had to recharge. I totally recommend this to anyone, especially if foils aren't working for you!!

I hadn’t used an electric shave for over 30 yrs, so yes I would be very impressed. But the battery life on this is great, cleaning is easy, and gives a close shave either wet or dry.

Highly recommend for anyone needing to shave, good quality product that works really well, also love the cleaning mode

My old Philips shaver was 12 yrs old and I said time to upgrade so I decided to get this one. It was the best thing I’d done for a long time. So if your thinking of changing choose this one you won’t be disappointed.

Previously used a Braun shaver. Philips motor sounds slower and more laboured, surprisingly it grinds down the hair follicles giving a smooth shave

It is one of the best shaves I've had for a while and it's so easy to clean

My last series 5000 now 5 years old exceeded 5 shaves per charge compared with the new one barley achieving 3 light shaves

Overall it’s not too bad a shaver, it is a closer shave than my previous Philips sensotouch 3D shaver, I like that it has a rechargeable usb socket and cable rather than some big charging stand, just find that it’s not so easy to shave underneath my nose/ moustache area as the blades are housed in quite a big piece of plastic so it’s difficult to get the blades where they are needed, the hair trimmer isn’t so great for that area either but better at trimming sideburns, for the money I paid for it in a sale it was good

Early days yet (Week Four), but so far I’m quite pleased. I use it for dry shaving only, and it results in a reasonably close shave.

I thought long and hard before buying this shaver. My previous Philips shaver later 39 years. Only changing it when rubber parts started to age.

This one, looks great and ergonomically handles well. The cut however, is not as good. M

I didn’t think a battery shaver could give a close shave but this shaver really gives a close shave and the battery life is good just came back off a 2 week holiday and didn’t charge it once . A really good buy .

I use it to shave 'wet' with shaving gel. I am impressed by how close it shaves and quick too, compared to my old 3000.

I was replacing a Braun Series 7 shaver, which has, and still does, serve(d) me well for years.

This Philips product is simply awful and I suspect I'll either give it to someone looking for a quick shaver, albeit a not very good shaver, or throw it in the bin...!!!

55 years ago, I started out with a Philip's three head shaver, and that model was a lot better than its modern day equivalent.

As I said, never again shall I purchase a Philips shaver...!

The razor is by far the best I have had, nice smooth shave, plus lovely the power indicator to show how much power remains.

I was hoping this shaver would be a good purchase but as yet it has failed to give me a close shave. I used a Phillips rotary shaver prior to this, a much cheaper one. This shaver does not cut close, I have tried both wet and dry shaving using foam for wet shaving and a pre shave solution for dry shaving. The shape of the shaver head is difficult but not impossible to shave close to the nose. Will continue for a little while longer to see if the shaver improves, if not I will be returning it under the try guarantee.

Gives a good clean shaven that is so much better than my last shaver. My only regret is that I didn't get it earlier

Absolutely fantastic shaver, lovely shave every time, charges quickly, and lasts for ages, would highly recommend this shaver and wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

I bought this shaver as a reserve for travel and away from home . I found it to be very smooth and comfortable shaver. I have been using Braun shaver for decades and this one is really handy and just as good as other electric shaver. Recommend it as a best value for money and it shall not let you down.

Best shaver yet. Of all the Philips shavers I have used this is with out doubt the best. Do you have people out in the field that test new models and report on them?
